University of Liverpool Football Club (UoLFC) First Team 6-0 University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) First Team

Goal scorers - Morgan Davage (x3), James Harper (x2), Theo Hayford

Emphatic opening day win.

Previously, UoLFC defeated Leeds Beckett University First Team 5-2 in their final preseason friendly with goals from James Harper (two), Franki Pashias, Louis Jarvis & Morgan Davage.

Conversely, just as it was a warm, sunny afternoon, a week earlier, it was wet, but not initially cold.

The visitors, this time, were UCFB First Team.

One change was made as Louis Jarvis replaced Mauro Boaventura.

Incidentally, Jarvis was presented with the first opportunity of the afternoon, but declined the invitation to shoot on the right side of the edge of the penalty area.

Strikingly, it was a slippy surface.

Ominously, Morgan Davage was finding his range, shooting low from the opposite side, the UCFB 'keeper producing a comfortable save.

A misplaced back pass presented James Harper with a one-on-one. Harper invited the 'keeper to foul him. Recklessly, he did, leaving the referee with no alternative but to award a penalty.

Harper, the designated taker for the season, rolled the ball into the bottom left corner, despite the 'keeper guessing correctly, diving the same way. (1-0)

Notably, there was a bigger attendance than the previous week. Competitive action was ðŸ”™

UCFB offered little going forward, unable to retain possession in the final third, prioritising defending.

Harper challenged for a header, then Davage stabbed the ball beyond the 'keeper. (2-0)

It was becoming colder. Pathetic fallacy for the UCFB.

Davage displayed great footwork, then coverted into the left corner. (3-0)

Captain Franki Pashias nearly added a fourth, but the 'keeper denied his shot, destined for the far-left corner, saving with his feet.

Davage did complete his hat-trick, cutting inside, beating the 'keeper via a cruel deflection. Tom Watts credited with the assist. (4-0)

Then, Harper had an attempt saved, but Theo Hayford scored the rebound, half-volleying into the ground. Think the goal in the first minute of the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final from Paolo Maldini for AC Milan against Liverpool... (5-0)

Harper then missed from close range. Fortunately, he could laugh about it as he latched onto a square pass, chipped the 'keeper, much to his annoyance, especially as he reached a hand to it. (6-0) Comprehensive.

PoM - Morgan Davage

Next up - Lancaster 1s (A)
